It's worse than ever since cell phones, but I've been going to shows (and worked in the music industry) since the 1980s and there have always been people like this and there always will be. The best shows to see these days are the ones where the artist bans cell phones. Unfortunately, large portions of concert goers are only there to say they were there and they are the ones who talk and talk and talk and talk and never shut up. I feel your pain, I really do, but you are railing against something that will never change.
