Hey Transplants or Idiot Portland Drivers!

Well you're half correct on the left on red.
You can turn left on red as long as the street you are turning onto is a one way. Doesn't matter if you are on a one way.

2017 ORS 811.360¹
Vehicle turns permitted at stop light
The driver of a vehicle, subject to this section, who is intending to turn at an intersection where there is a traffic control device showing a steady circular red signal, a steady red bicycle signal or a steady red arrow signal may do any of the following without violating ORS 811.260 (Appropriate driver responses to traffic control devices) and 811.265 (Driver failure to obey traffic control device):

(a) Make a right turn into a two-way street.

(b) Make a right or left turn into a one-way street in the direction of traffic upon the one-way street.

Sadly, no one seems to know how to drive anywhere in this country. Seems like in Oregon, however, they'll give ANYONE a license. Add that to the fact that in Oregon you can drive a vehicle that is LITERALLY falling to pieces and might kill other people if you simply drive it down the road, it's a recipe for disaster basically anytime you are in a moving vehicle no matter what.

I have never lived in a state where EVERY SINGLE DAY there is a fatal accident near where I live (I live on the northern coast). The other day a toddler was run over by someone backing out of their driveway! People don't look, drive too fast, don't follow basic rules of driving, have no common decency or courtesy while driving and cause accidents that kill people because they are too stupid and impatient to fully comprehend the responsibility of driving a motor vehicle.

Man I so feel this post. It's absurd how angry it makes me and that's my problem to deal with, but for sure the hate is real...

No one knows the left turn law. I had someone actually catch up to me, roll his window down at a light, and berate me for running a red light. All I could do was laugh at him and get out "look up the law" before he sped away.

Conversely, today I had an asshole behind me laying on his horn while I was waiting for pedestrians to clear the crosswalk before I could turn. Driving really is stressful in this city
