I'm guessing you're not licensed or insured. You're probably a handyman wanting more money for a job that doesn't cost much. Unfortunately honest labor doesn't exist anymore.
Changes are one thing, I/A, it's always understood that changes to an initial plan will increase the amount of work time and thus the cost, but for unforeseen structural issues, if you got the job on a bid without doing your due diligence about them (as super experienced as you are and all), that's on you.
