It's nice to read a goodbye letter to Portland that not a bitter diatribe.

I once felt the same way about Seattle. I thought I would live there forever. I fell harder for Seattle than I did for New York City and before it happened had anyone ever told me that would be the case, I would have never believed them and laughed in their face.

Life is funny, though. Seattle and I were not meant to be. It was illness that forced me to leave, though I know full well had that never happened I would still no longer be there. It's no longer a place I want to live, even if I could afford to do it.

Who knows. Your next love might be even better.
