Indeed. Is there any way to object to these being installed?

MYTH: Smart meters are a health threat because they communicate using wireless signals.

TRUTH: In-depth review of the scientific literature by the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that the small amount of radio frequency (RF) energy produced by smart meters is not harmful to human health.

TRUTH: RF emitted by smart meters is well below the limits set by Federal Communications Commission and it is below levels produced by other common household devices like cell phones, baby monitors, satellite TVs, and microwaves. In fact, you would have to be exposed to the RF from a smart meter for 375 years to get a dose equivalent to that of one year of 15-minutes-per-day cell phone use.

No credible evidence shows any threat to human health from RF emissions at or below RF exposure limits developed by the FCC. With over 25,000 articles published on the topic over the last 30 years, scientific knowledge in this area is now more extensive than for most chemicals.

This is from the FCC written to a customer, posted on the PGE website. In a nutshell stating that multiple meters simultaneously emitting frequency require a larger safety radius, or need to have the multiple meters only emitting one signal to reduce exposure.

"With respect to multiple adjacent Smart Meter installations, since the antennas for each device are mounted individually on each utility meter, the separation distance from people for most of the transmitting antennas is relatively large compared to 20 cm and the meters, contributions to the total potential exposure at any location are small, as only the nearest few transmitters can add meaningfully to the total. Further, as a practical design matter, when several of these meters are placed in a cluster, they have to communicate with a single controller. In order to ensure that the controller receives the information properly, only one transmitter can communicate with the controller at a time, eliminating the potential for exposure to multiple signals at the same time."

See Section 2.1091(c) of the FCC rules.

I disagree. I know lots of people that got sick after smart meters were installed. And if you think the World Health Organization actually cares about the health of the masses, you should really look into their history and who founded them in the first place. They practically invented global eugenics. Get the fuck out of that house now or you will be dead in a year.

You must be proud to contribute to the entertainment value of the Merc Anon Blog! If you really believe radio wave pseudoscientific paranoia, you might also be interested in climate change denial, the antivax movement, that the earth is flat, and that moon landing was faked.

I believe the PGE meters only send data every 8 hours in a tiny burst and that the Pacificorp meters are similar because both companies are too cheap to build a decent radio system.
