Franklin High Quakers

Why is the team name for Franklin High school the Quakers?
Ben Franklin wasn't a Quaker, he was born in Boston and move to Philly as a teenager, and yes Pennsylvania was settled by William Penn who was a Quaker, but that's the entire relationship. I just assume Oregonian's were so bad at history they equated the two.
