You do realize that nothing is preventing you from buying a drain snake and learning how to use it yourself... ???

Our plumber told us that clogged garbage disposals put his daughter through college. He said people use them incorrectly by putting a bunch of food down them, when they were only ever meant just to clean up a few remnants from rinsing or washing dishes. My mother, who doesn't own a disposal, stuffed ours with rice while on a visit. That's how we learned this expensive but valuable lesson.

Drano is just sodium hydroxide (lye) and bleach, which are both quite harmless when diluted out in wastewater. You should educate yourself before posting nonsense like this.

drain snakes are not high tech tools. anyone can use one. they make ones that operate off of an electric drill--very easy. you do have an electric drill don't you?
