What difference does it make if they turn on their signal and turn at the last second? Would it make any difference if they turned on their signal 50 or so feet before the turn? What would you do, then? Pass on the right (illegally)?

Just don't be a douchebag and use your fucking turn signals like your supposed to, and don't sit through the light and then turn the signal on at the last minute when you start to go, either; the law says you must begin signalling a minimum of 100 feet before the intersection. ORS 811.335, look it up.

@ Bentley - they should take away your license and vehicle, based on your stunning disregard for the law. i suppose you're also one of those people that complain about bicyclists 'breaking the law', when you don't even know what the law actually says about what cyclists are and aren't theoretically allowed to do.

I'm with the original poster on this one. Use your signal BEFOREHAND so I know WTF you are doing and can use the right lane to continue going on my way. Is that so hard? The fact you don't like the clicking sound of your own blinker is not an excuse to avoid using it! And FFS, if you aren't in the left turn lane and you need to go that way, TAKE THREE RIGHTS AROUND THE BLOCK! It is not ok to turn on your blinker and dynamite your brakes, bringing all traffic in your lane to a halt so you can wait for space to turn left ACROSS another lane, you moron! THIS is why traffic is so F'd up in Portland these days.
