I hate Trump and if Bernie is the nominee we get four more year of Dumbass.

2

I hate Trump and really can't believe that any of the Democrats (none of whom I want to vote for at this point) can't beat him. I mean really? Trump is a lying piece of shit. He is a traitor. He has done more damage to this country internally and worldwide than any president EVER and no one will vote for someone else? Trump will win? America deserves what it gets if Trump is not in prison in 2020. Seriously, EVERYONE PULL YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES.

In order for Trump to be in prison, there needs to be criminal charges filed against him. What charges do you think those would be, #2, and why aren't they being worked on / filed? Hint: if there was anything rest assured that it would have been one of the impeachment articles. The lack of a real "crime" is the backbone of the defense, and most importantly, plays very well with the general public.

Second, I think trump is as big of a buffoon as the next guy, but there is no way he is going to be beat by any of the current front running candidates. Not with this economy, and not with the boost that him getting off on this impeachment fiasco (yes he did something bad, no it doesn't rise to the level in the minds of voters of something that is impeachable....and therefore you aren't going to see republicans in the senate flip to the other side) is going to give him in the polls and on the debate stage. He is going to greatly benefit from the victim card in 2020 and from being able to paint the democrats as "do nothing" and completely worthless at doing anything other than trying to go after him (and failing miserably) The past 3.5 years. This impeachment gamble was a dumb one, and yet another example of a painfully bad decision by the democrats.

@4 New York State has, is, and will be filing criminal charges against Trump. Also, he already HAS numerous lawsuits against him right now (some related to his presidency, some related to sexual assault, and others related to his businesses and tax evasion). He has also been convicted and punished for financial fraud regarding his "University" and his "Foundation" both of which have been shut down.

Impeachment is totally separate from criminal prosecution and so is removal from office vs. going to prison. Failure to comprehend the basics seems to be your problem.

All you have to do is search current lawsuits and Donald Trump and a shit ton of information is provided.

You can bleat on all you like about whatever it is you think DT is doing well as the resident in the White House. He is a traitor, a criminal, and the ONLY way his sorry ass (with a 40% approval rating and that's being beyond generous) "wins" is by yet again stealing the election. He's going to have a tough road when most of the just under 45,000 votes that got him the EC come from counties he has seriously fucked over and caused harm to while spouting all of his bullshit regarding making America Great Again.

The Democrats in the House impeaching Donald Trump was not a gamble, it was holding a sitting resident in the WH accountable for crimes. And they chose to only bring forth two, that was their only mistake. Pretending that the GOP has not decided to end this country for their own financial gain and power is sheer denial of reality.

@4 - The "Economy" is doing great is an evil excuse using greed to justify abhorrent behavior. The my 401k is doing great so kids in cages is okay. The my ancestors arrived generations ago poor and made lives for themselves and their descendants so screw newcomers they're not the same as me argument.

To throw a little cold water on the economy is great argument can we talk about the Deficit? How whenever a Democratic President is in office the Debt is the #1 priority, but under Republicans the debt ceases to matter. Consider how the current fiscal budgets have increased by about a half a trillion dollars per year of debt over Obama's departure (approx 1/2 trillion a year - and falling / to over a Trillion a year and rising).

Throwing a half a trillion per year extra into the economy of course boosts the nation. I hope your kids enjoy the poverty coming when the inevitable bill comes due.

You Republicans and your Moral Imperative are a joke and you sicken me.

Also @4 The economy is only doing well if you are wealthy and white. Everyone else, even the middle class, has been harmed by the tax cut scam. And TRILLIONS are being added to the deficit and BILLIONS are being wasted on Trump's wall and his golfing habit. But don't let facts get in the way of your being one of Trump's Deranged Sycophants.

Good lord. I suppose I should have written "trigger warning" before my last post. Take a deep breath for christ's sake.

1 - I don't support trump, didn't vote for him and won't (although I sure as hell won't vote for any of the current dem options either). Lot's of folks in my same boat on that one, and in any case, it doesn't matter in Oregon, as the dems will get our electoral college votes by a wide margin.

2 - I am not saying the economy is doing good because of Trump. He inherited it, mostly. It is true that business owners and the stock market in general likes anti-tax republicans, but that's a whole nother discussion. My point, and this is all that mattes at the ballot box, is that in many voters' minds, the economy, stock market, etc. is tied to Trump, and that will absolutely come into play in November. It's also an extremely powerful talking point for him between now and then. That's what I was getting at....the political power of being an incumbent with a strong economy is undeniable.

3 - There are no "crimes" in the impeachment articles (referring the last paragraph in post #5). Whether or not you believe the articles' allegations constitute impeachable actions, they do not include any crimes. Again, you missed my point here. That is, without actual crimes, the American public is never going to get behind this impeachment. Without strong, bipartison support (which would only come from pressure from the general public, which aint happening in red districts), there are never going to be enough senate republicans who will vote for impeachment. The dems know that, and in my mind, that makes this a terrible gamble / political move. Yes, there is all this talk about "ohh, his reputation is forever tarnished (as if he hasn't already done that to himself) by the impeachment asterisk in the history books, but that isn't how this will play out. What will happen is exactly this: Trump uses this whole thing, along with the Muller outcome, to paint the Dems as spending 3.5 years doing nothing for the country but pursuing trump for "crimes" that they could never prove and that he was "exonerated" from. Again, I'm not saying that's how I view this, but it's 100% how it's going to be spun by the Republicans and my guess is that it will be done so successfully.

What matters in the electoral college is on-the-fence voters in 4-6 states. My opinion is that Trump being able to play the card of the triumphant victim (Muller case, impeachment failure in the Senate) who has led this country into a great economic boom and relative calm on the foreign wars front - despite the failed "witch hunts" led by the democrats - is going to play VERY well with moderate republicans and democrats in those states. Again, that's literally all that matters here. And no, I don't need to see links to current polls......we all know how accurate those were in 2016, especially this far out.

4 - Yes trump has civil lawsuits galore. Not jail-able. Second, there is a strong precedent for not jailing ex presidents. Again, not sure what jail-able, slam dunk crimes you think are going to be brought up anyways? It's a nice fantasy, and I would love to see him in an orange jumpsuit if its legally warranted, but not gonna happen.

Here is a good article on the topic https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/trump-jail-190616202603125.html.

Thank you, Christina Rae.

JTR, this is not gonna be your average Oridinary Election. Sanders' appeal is to those perpetually left out, the Middle and working class and incredulous (former) Repubs; if they can muster the gumption (and Ignore the "free" press) and get the fuck out there AND Vote* we'll see what this country's made of.

Oh, and if trumpfy and the repub traitors in Congress somehow manage to steal another one, I spose we'll still see what America's made of after all.

Keep 'em comin', CR.

*the ones Repubs haven't yet decimated, gerrymandered, or terminated

  1. I agree that beating trump is doable, but it's going to take a massive change in voter turnout in the 4-6 key states that matter. Trumpies will be out in full force at the ballot box, fueled by their disdain for all the "wrongs" that have been done to Donnie (i.e. my saying that the impeachment is a bad idea without stronger, criminal wrongdoing). If the dems can rally in these states and get people to the polls as well, they have a good shot. This will take a new campaign approach though....one totally different than in 2016 when they got cocky and ignored these states that drive the electoral college.

This is an outstanding troll for this town. Really, really well done. I'll take the over on number of replies.

Trust me, JTR voted for Trump.
