Inspired by an amusing running gag in recent I, Anonymous comments, I just googled "Coronavirus mortality rate" and it just isn't virulent enough to accomplish the myriad corrective actions predicted by the multiple "Coronavirus will take care of this problem" posts. Overall, less than 1% of people who get it die from it, and you have to go up to the 50-59 age demo to get past two-tenths of a percent. Also, men are twice as likely as women to die from it. So while the overall numbers aren't promising, old men seem to be taking the heaviest hit, so it does have that bit of karmic payoff going for it. But if you're really looking for the Malthusian way out of our many societal ills, you'd be way better off putting your money on hypertension, type II diabetes, and prostate cancer.
