If we had any sort of leadership in this country, like say anyone who thought it was a bad idea to fully dismantle the pandemic response organizations put in place by the Obama administration, we would have less panic and also less apathy. No matter what stupidity cannot be mitigated.

The United States could end up having over one million dead. Just days ago the cons were squeeing with glee that only blue states were affected. Sarasota, Florida's health agency told people that it was all a hoax. Then two people died there. Now their health officials are spewing word salad blaming their "answering service" for saying it was a hoax, because they would NEVER say it was a hoax. There will be as many red dead as there are blue in the end. But the Trump cultists will literally die believing COVID-19 was no big deal and/or a conspiracy created by the democrats and/or a worldwide lie created to bring down their Jim Jones. When it gets really bad, will Trump shoot himself (or have someone shoot him) like Jim Jones did? Or will he insist until his dying breath it was all a hoax?

Here's today's map - what will it look like in 18 months when, MAYBE, an effective vaccine will be in production? And remember, it's a virus, so it's not something they will be able to cure (and it has already mutated once, so what are we going to do when it mutates again? and again? and again?)

P.S. Oh and we will never know how many people have it or had it or are carrying it because we're not testing people. Tens of thousands of people have been tested in S. Korea. SOUTH KOREA!!! No count on how many have been tested here, because the CDC took that information off of their web site (why?).

Blame the media for all the ridiculous hype. We have some really stupid people out there and they haven't helped by not using their brains!!!

It's part and parcel of the world system. For one, the sterilization tendency of modern society is quite hyper and obsessive. This itself is good for pathogens like cv to utilize the immune networks developed by typical social practices. So in a sense, hipsters and other daring millenials are clearly immune, and this is a boomer plague. This doesn't mean we should harness that sweet sweet power to change the elections. That's sadistic. But it does mean that our culture helps harbor spread of infections which hurt real people real time- so wash your hands more often with regular good soap.

No, that's Genocide.
Or, more correctly,
Geronticide.
