Why won't congress or the government do anything while people are dying, being evicted, and losing everything? Because they want this to happen. It's a slow Purge of the most venerable. They have been trying to kill the aged and the poor for eons and this was the perfect way to do it- by attrition and indifference. All of our hand wringing and demands are falling on deaf ears, because this is what they have always wanted. A bloodless Purge. But instead of light up masks and bedazzled machetes, it's suffocation and homelessness.
