The cops like to catch people going 5 miles over the limit using cams. Then they pay a private religious 'college' to host the bad driver seminars when there are many free venues owned by the city—PPC just to name one. So you have speed traps and religious grifting. But the cops do nothing to enforce the noise ordinances and the law that cars MUST have working mufflers. There are assholes who race on any straight stretch of E99. Not in any city that has cops who would ticket them, though, only within Portland city limits. This is a trivial complaint compared to all that is wrong with the justice system and policing, but it is annoying to be subjected to noise from people who have no respect for laws. But the cops don't go after them because naturally they empathize with young white guys who don't give a f***.
