I've always liked music, when I was younger I took saxophone lessons. I was never much good at it, but I did enjoy the gravitas and attention that lugging around a saxophone case came with. When I first went to college it was for studying the music theory. After awhile everything just looks like familiar patterns, for the some its math, for the others it's music. One night a friend had a bad reaction to something she took and with her consent we looked into what happened. Working from our collective memory, we were able to trace the movements and some of the general conversations had at the party the previous night. We quickly narrowed down the suspects. Then we watched.

The following weekend more young men and women fell victim in similar fashion. Our community was under attack. We follow-up with the victims who confirmed our suspects were in the area and were most likely the ones hurting these people. We alerted the community to the dangerous details observed and advised caution around certain individuals. The following weekend more fell victim. That's when we drew straws.

A couple days after a uniform took my statement, I ran into a hackysacker and an ultimate frisbeer. We introduced ourselves to each other and they relayed how they had heard about what was happening to people in the community and how I was trying to help. I provided them with my notes and documentation. We reviewed the notes together. Peppered between their questions on my notes was their refrain "I don't know why you handed this to us but thanks."

The community attacks abated.

About 2 months after our first meeting, I let them know I had made them as UCs at our first meeting. Then I got a call.
