This country deserves to have NO restaurant industry. Some people refuse to behave. Some are assaulting restaurant employees who want proof of vaccine or are simply asking people to wear a mask.

Employers refuse to pay living wages and whine endlessly about no one wanting to work. Almost everyone refuses to acknowledge how easy it is to spread COVID while chewing and drinking in an enclosed space. They also refuse to acknowledge the percentage of service industry workers who have died of COVID in the nearly one million that have died in this country (yeah I know the "official" tally is nearly 700,000, but there are states not reporting accurate numbers and there are too many people whose deaths were not counted as COVID deaths).

The restaurant industry is a luxury. We don't need it to exist. And the way everyone is behaving, we don't deserve it. The best thing that could happen to this country is if everyone had to shop and cook for themselves, every damn meal, every damn time. Oh how people would freak out if they couldn't go to some restaurant and treat someone else like shit while they are being served food made by someone else.
