Let's talk about Ethan Knight.

Ethan Knight is an Assistant US Attorney for Oregon assigned as Chief of the Economic, National Security, and Cyber Crime Unit. He is the Federal Prosecutor responsible for investigating and prosecuting acts of foreign and domestic terrorism in Portland and Oregon.

Ethan is a man of many conflicts. He was the prosecutor attached to the Mohamed Osman Mohamud 2010 case, which sparked several complaints of law enforcement entrapment. Ethan is also responsible for the ruined prosecution of the Bundy Malheur Refuge occupation, which sparked several accusations of deliberate mismanagement and self-sabotage of the government's case. Mohamed Osman Mohamud is of color with no connections to law enforcement other than those who groomed him for the events he was later criminally charged for. The individuals associated with the Bundy Malheur Refuge occupation were not persons of color and had established connections with members of law enforcement.

As the US Attorney in charge of National Security and Cyber Crime, Ethan has had access to confidential information targeting Portland politics and civic institutions.

In 2019, Ethan declared his candidacy for Multnomah County District Attorney. To help him run his campaign, he entered into a financial relationship with Jake Weigler of Hilltop Public Solutions (and later Praxis Political), paying his companies over $78k throughout the campaign. (His main rival for the job was Mike Schmidt, whose campaign staff also reports arranging conversations with Mr. Weigler about managing his campaign and possibly other matters before, during, and after the campaign.)

Knight's campaign received 25k from the Multnomah County Prosecutor Alliance, $8.5k from then-District Attorney Rod Underhill's PAC, $750 from the Democratic Party of Oregon, $20k from the Keep Portland Safe PAC, as well as the endorsement of the Portland Police Association and the Portland Public Safety Action Coalition.

Despite these donations and endorsement, Ethan Knight's campaign performance is among the poorest in Portland's history for a candidate of his qualifications with access to the level of political experience he purchased for his campaign.

Ethan has never brought forth charges of any kind related to out-of-state gangs and militias transporting weapons across state lines to violently attack and terrorize Portlanders exercising their free speech rights, including those with direct collaborative connections to members of the Portland Police Bureau and other Oregon Law Enforcement bodies.

Ethan is one of the Assistant US Attorney's leading the prosecution of Portland resident Hawazen Sameer Mothafar on conspiracy charges to provide material support to a designated terrorist organization and one count of providing and attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization. Hawazen Sameer Mothafar is a person of color with no known connections to law enforcement entities.

Below is a copy and paste of the comment the Portland Mercury deleted from this post.

But this is scary. These individuals have positioned themselves as our saviors. What are we supposed to do if we no longer have access to their talents and skillsets to secure our liberty and prosperity?
If you have someone in your midst who comes close to paraphrasing "I alone can fix it," your spidey-sense should be tingling. A big part of the problem is the measured imbalance caused by only permitting a select few to advocate and advance ideas on behalf of our communities. Healthy communities are filled with advocates distributed across groups and expertise. This distribution of knowledge and power helps prevent corrupt actors from compelling tributes and special favors at choke points.
If you are reliant on only a handful of people who have "special powers" to advance your cause or mission (and who just so happen to overwhelmingly financially benefit from these "special powers"), you are not part of a movement or a social cause; you are part of a cult. (I know you said not to use that word, but let's call it what it is.)
The truth is the power does not reside in these corrupt individuals but in the people.
Portland is a city of 650k people; how rational is it to believe that our communities social justice causes would be unable to march forward simply because we ask a handful of those claiming to represent our interests to be as accountable as they wish others to be.
Also, look at our pattern of discovery over the past couple of years. How has our understanding of events evolved? We've seen a steady and consistent unveiling of what really happened. We've improved our knowledge of each individual actor's behaviors. We've observed how these people respond when asked to acknowledge the truth. We've witnessed how quick they manipulate others for their own corrupt benefits.
Is this going to hurt? Absolutely, many of us are still denying the events as they were recorded, not to mention the fuller truths yet to be revealed.
There is a reason and a purpose to the sheer volume of intersections we are seeing. Portland has an opportunity to lead the world. We can lead it to peace and truth or to deception and war.
Things are speeding up. The guilt you have for a past inaction is understandable, but don't permit yourself to repeat past mistakes by remaining frozen in fear.
You have an opportunity for redemption, but it is a limited-time offer.

Very Very strange. Why would the Portland Mercury delete that comment?

They have been doing that more and more of late. Deleting comments, banning domains and specific IP addresses from creating accounts, what is going on over there?

We know this is intentional because they talk about it via email, text, and ims.

Weigler is a former Executive Assistant to the Attorney General. He was a Campaign Manager for Wyden for Senate. He has visited Russia. He was a Spokesperson for Oregon Governor Kulongoski, who appointed current Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler as Treasurer at the urging of Gordon Sondland Trump's Ambassador to Europe. Weigler was also campaign manager for Wheeler's 2016 Mayoral campaign. Russia's Internet Research Agency directly engaged that campaign that Weigler managed.

His company Praxis Political, which Ethan Knight employed, hired Gregory Mckelvey as "Director of Advocacy." Mckelvey has claimed leadership responsibilities and represented himself as a type of spokesperson for "Antifa," a fictional organization with no basis in reality. Moreover, Mckelvey has no demonstrated experience with successful political campaigns.

Mckelvey has also publicly commented on his struggles with mental health and his use of recreational drugs to manage that struggle. Some of these comments occurred during his employment at Praxis Political.

Mckelvey has expressed his "wish" for Antifa to hack more shit. https://archive.is/aVRdX

Mckelvey has commented on his awareness that Russia "props up" and rewards those in line with their views. Interestingly he used the Russian disinformation refrain "America does the same thing" while commenting. https://archive.md/8gVx0

Mckelvey has "jokingly" presented himself as a Russian agent https://archive.is/vg4pw

After being hired by Praxis Political, Mckelvey publicly advocated for vandalism as a legitimate political tool and even as a fun social event that's a "good excuse for human contact."

During that advocacy, which occurred shortly after being hired by Praxis Political, Mr. Mckelvey, used a very revealing analogy while attempting to justify his advocacy of vandalism (which he has accurately described as criminal behavior). While "Director of Advocacy" at Praxis Political, Mckelvey suggested that as a passenger on the sinking Titanic, the most strategic action you should take in that event would be to smash instruments of the band playing music trying to calm other passengers. He did not mention lifeboats or protecting the less vulnerable in his analogy. Instead, he simply noted the opportunity to attack others and destroy property in the perceived absence of consequence.

Unsurprisingly available public records indicate Mckelvey has a long-established dialogue with Mayoral staff and Portland Police intelligence. One of the Mayor's staff he was coordinating the events of "demonstrations" with is Nathan Howard.

In fact, despite the campaign he managed selected "Always Antifa" as their key brand message, records show that Mckelvey and other key campaign figures were actively collaborating with Portland Police Intelligence on several matters.

Megan Wever is a partner alongside Jake Weigler at Praxis Political. They worked at Hilltop Public Solutions with Colin Cochran. Colin Cochran has bragged about breaking windows in foreign countries.

Yes, Jake Weigler who at one time counted the Oregon State Bar as a client of Hilltop Public Solutions and Praxis Political has an established relationship with Juan Chavez.

Witnesses have relayed that Jake Weigler bragged about recieved confidential information from members of the Portland Police Association with the intent of aiding him in a private matter. It has not been established if this is same officer(s) who provide information to Alex Zielinski of the Portland Mercury or collaborate with Juan Chavez. More information would be needed to irrefutably confirm Mr. Weigler's exchange of information with Officers Miller and Porter of the PPB.

It's important to note that while these Officers are in the same unit as those who have been documented collaborating with Patriot Prayer / Proud Boys / Oath Keepers, at this point it would be irresponsible to assume that Mr. Weigler or Mr. Chavez had any sort of role in the PPA's coordinated disinformation and intimidation campaigns against Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty.

We can say that it has been confirmed that a member of the commissioners communications team provided inside information to Mr. Weigler and his team for private benefit use.

Juan Chavez is not the spokesperson of the Multnomah County District Attorney and the public has not been provided details to the public on how or why he was able to disclose the contents of a secret indictment against Proud Boy Tiny Toese or if that disclosure provided any benefit to Chavez and Toese's mutual collaborators within the PPB/PPA organizational structure.

Wasn't illegal/unreported in-kind campaign donations reported at multiple points as well?

How is that connected to an international non-profit targeting their resources exclusively on swing states in an attempt to influence an election?

What is the significance of the #defundthepolice narrative in relation to foreign disinformation campaigns?

Is it legal or ethical for a nonprofit to fire someone for reporting a significant crime to federal law enforcement or for uncovering donor/member/organizational alignment with foreign disinformation campaigns?

Remember when Bobby Rush trounced Obama.

O well done! I commend your pains;
And every one shall share i' the gains;
And now about the cauldron sing,
Live elves and fairies in a ring,
Enchanting all that you put in
