This week, Oregon State House Representative Brad Witt introduced HR 4079, a bill that would create a Basic Income pilot program in Oregon that would provide foster youth and pregnant individuals with $750/month! They're seeking to fund this pilot program with a luxury tax on extremely expensive goods (think like aircrafts, yachts..and $5k clothing) which I think is GREAT.

But people need to take action like NOW because it needs to get voted yes on by the department of human services and is in a short session which only has 35 days.

I have been a universal basic income advocate for many years and am so excited to see state leadership take action.
