Imagine the amounts we don't know about, these are the publicly known amounts. And this is just a sample, not a full accounting of all politicians taking money from the NRA and the gun lobby.

Politicians with millions in their pockets from the NRA are never, ever, EVER going to legislate murder weapons. They are owned, wholly, by the NRA and the gun lobby.

The other problem is everyone in this country obsessed with murder weapons insists the second amendment allows them to own arsenals of murder weapons. It doesn't. And there is no right to murder. None. That right does not exist. And yet this country bleeds daily pretending it does.

No other country has this sickness. Not one other country of the face of the earth. We are alone in our cult of death and insistence that all those murdered by gun violence are acceptable losses. We are alone in believing the lie we tell ourselves that nothing can be done. This country is exceptional in that respect and that respect alone.
