Yes, amazing as it may seem, people who keep pets are responsible for their safety. The onus of keeping your pets away from danger is, indeed, on YOU and no one else.
Personally I could do without some of these free range cats. I can deal with the dead mice! But when the dead mouse turns into a gross pile of ants in the front walkway... come on, cats.
Yes! This is the responsible reactions of a logical person. Joe, I do not know you...PLEASE tell me you ride a bike...PLEASE!! PLEASE... Because your reaction to this man's OBVIOUS concern, is ludicrous... What color is your prius and what temperature do you like your diet non fat decaf cappucino latte? When your family is ripped to pieces by an; irresponsible Dog riding a unicycle sipping a latte...I will laugh. I will laugh.
Oh, Anon, I can relate, but people are jerks about dogs and pit bulls. I have a pit bull mix, and he is not and has never been dog-aggressive. He acts submissive around cocker spaniels. He gets along just fine at dog daycare and at the off-leash area at the park. Yet more than once, bitchy soccer-mom types (often with golden retrievers and/or a stroller) have stopped me on the street (while I am keeping my dog at my side, on a leash, heeling) to bitch bitch bitch at me that my dog is dangerous and ought have a muzzle on, or shouldn't be allowed out of my yard. I waited for my boyfriend outside a grocery store, with the dog on leash, sitting calmly at my side, and a bitchy mom came over to tell me that I had "no business" bringing "a dog like that" to the grocery store. Meanwhile, her large Golden was jumping, growling, and behaving very aggressively. Bad dog owners suck.
You never read in the paper or see on the news how the little family dog that was so gentle all these years suddenly flipped out and ripped a kids face off.
Nope. But you'll see it a couple times a year with a pit bull, right? They are bred to fight.
You drive a big pick-up truck too, huh?
