I can't understand your narrative. Did he 'literally' choke you out with your bootstraps? That'd be crazy, but also not what I think you're trying to say.

I am concerned your boot strap thing. I feel very bad for you and wish I did not read this. I hope you get the help you need and quit groveling. For God sakes, you are an American. Act like one. Whoever him, choking you out makes you lucky, lucky, lucky to get away. I hope your nerves get better and you make friends soon.

I'm pretty sure you're allowed to kill those fuckers. Even in the South.
Also this is going to be a real bad year for the roundworms, so Seattle or Boise might be a better bet. I mean, did you hear about the new mother from California that got a bad roundworm infestation in her nipples? Apparently, she stupidly let her 9 mos old splash around in the puddles, and what do you know?, baby gets it and she gets a massive roundworm infested nipple.

Deep in the South, sounds like hell.

If you pay taxes and don't live in a squat you are okay.

If you are spanging outside Freddies' on Hawthorne- no sympathy.

If you are trying to make a life for yourself you may want to look outside of Portland because this is a diifficult place to start a productive adult life.

Homelessness is not a crisis!!! (says a hobo), it is the lack of freedom which used to be here in Portland that has been stripped away by conservatives and developers and yes the middle class too who blatantly support it or do nothing to stop it. It used to set a different tune to the streets of Portland. Were you to come here a few years ago you'd see hobos having a better time than the middle class- that is why they came to Portland NOT "BECAUSE IT HAS RESOURCES", but because they were allowed to EXIST and to congregate/ seek safety in numbers/ and -god-forbid- have their own sense of community.

Homelessness is not a crisis because people make it hard it is not inherently so, so technically it would be correct to get more specific and say it is a crisis of conformism and lack of tolerance, i.e. people do not understand anything but their own lifestyle so they break it up and herd people around like rats rather than letting them establish any place / culture/ or peace. It is a crisis of middle class perspective becoming physical law.

Anyway back to you and your post- I have nothing to say. Welcome to Portland, you sound like one of the good ones. Go give a hobo a sammich - it'll make you feel good.

Welcome to portland. your first tip is, instead of making a reasonable protest in such an even-tempered tone, complain as hard as you can without making it into a tantrum, and publicly shame yourself at a coffee shop for migrating in front of as many sullen looking people as you can

Stop asking for sympathy in life. Your story sound sad, but even mentioning it before you ask a city not to judge you sound worse. Who cares what people think. Go for a walk and forget about the others. Enjoy Portland. If not, pack your bags and find a new place to call home. Simple.

Please wait...
