Also, just wait till they become teenagers. Just wait until they start doing drugs, getting drunk, getting arrested, getting pregnant. Perhaps you're privileged enough to have insulated your precious children from the realities of life, and/or are wealthy enough to afford child care, or maybe you don't even have to work, and get to enjoy your time together, rather than worrying about how you're going to pay for their needs. Good for you. But know that one day, they will also hurt you like you've never been hurt before, and then they'll do it again. It's not a zero sum game, but it's definitely the only game you're gonna be playing for a long while. Meanwhile, some of us have things to do.
