I'm an essential equipment manufacturing worker who is struggling to pay my rent and feed my family at this time. My partner lost their source of income over the last month, and we are in a tough spot where I have had to take on longer hours at the factory to supplement our modest income. Last week, after a 12 hour shift, I was driving home when I was flagged by a makeshift Multnomah County speed trap and ticketed $170 for allegedly driving over the speed limit. I would like to officially thank the county police for taking precious time out of their day as essential workers to setup a sleazy speed trap and preying on hardworking citizens trying to maintain their livelihood during this time of global crisis.
