You decided to insert yourself in the lives of children by actively advocating for schools to remain closed. I certainly hope you never claim to be a feminist if you have sat here expecting women to stay home, single mothers to stay home, because you want schools closed. Heres the thing, your life is not childrens problem! But you've forced your life onto children and then expect them to suffer for your sake? Get over yourself.

@1 what?!?!

As for the person posting this rant - there are far more adults behaving badly (not wearing masks, not social distancing, getting together in groups, keeping their businesses open illegally, and doing whatever they want to do) that railing against children is absurd.

Children take their cues from adults. With all of the adults behaving badly (including Trump and all his sycophants screaming it's a hoax, it's no worse than the flu, blah blah blah) what the hell do you expect from children? The pandemic is RAGING because people are stupid. Half a million dead, 30 million sick (and counting on both numbers), and you think children need to behave? YOU ARE THE MOTHERFUCKING ADULT. ACT LIKE ONE.

Right now children need even more empathy and understanding. And even the parents you are railing at, you have absolutely NO idea what they are going through, what their day to day situation is, how burnt out they might be, what kind of stress they are trying to live with moment to moment, etc. They are failing their children in these situations, no doubt, but children are not pets - they are human beings.

We are in a shit show of a public health crisis and most adults are doing everything they can to spread disease and sicken and kill as many people as possible.

You can only control your own behavior. Act accordingly.

You can't do anything about shitty adults (with or without children). And you have no right to do any type of harm to children.

You can, however, as a reasonable adult, if you choose to, model proper behavior, speak to the children you encounter like the human beings they are, and extend empathy to them because honestly they are not the problem.
