Sorry but its the guns. America has an Army of mentally ill fuck-ups and yet we allow guns to be passed out like skittles. Why we would let some sick fuck walk into a gun store and in 15 minutes walk out with enough firepower to kill 100s is beyond reason.
Gun ownership should be legal but what we do now is insane and frankly dangerous. Guns need to be regulated. Period.

You can whine like children all you want. Guns are the problem.

Violence skyrocketed after the assault weapons ban was allowed to lapse.

This is not a pandora's box. Other countries have successfully voluntarily disarmed themselves from unregulated individuals being able to unleash weapons of war upon their neighbors.

This is a stupid and tired argument.

This whole thing is an invention of the past 30+ years as you point out, we didn't have this problem before because the gun lobby wasn't acting as a foreign asset and operating against the interest of the United States, we also have magnified the amount of illegal corruption and "legalized" bribery our governments over the past 30+.

This is a completely solvable problem.

Just grow up, take responsibility and do something.

If you just want to keep you head down and not make trouble, then expect more neighbors and innocent children to die from your inaction

To #1,

We already regulate guns. What laws are you promoting? Because we probably already have a law for it.

This is a list of who is already not allowed to have gun,
has been convicted in any court of a "crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year";[39]
is a fugitive from justice;
is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act,[40] codified at 21 U.S.C. ยง 802);

has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been involuntarily committed to any mental institution;
is an illegal alien (i.e. any person who is unlawfully in the United States[41]);
has been lawfully admitted as an alien under a nonimmigrant visa and is not exempt under 18 U.S.C. ยง 922(y)(2);[42]
has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
has renounced his or her United States nationality (i.e., became a foreign national);
is subject to a court order restraining the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of the intimate partner; or
has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence

What else do you want to do? Id say that enforcing the laws we already have, would probably be a good place to start.

3,

Wow, Im flattered that you had to take time from your day to create a new account, just to show me how triggered you are.

Your response also shows that you react emotionally, not rationally. It also puts your lack of critical thinking skills on display.

I used to be like you, I used to be anti gun. Then I moved to a place where I had to freedom to explore gun ownership. That was a perspective I never thought Id have. I grew up in NY, the state with the strictest gun laws. How did that serve me? It made me ignorant. Just like you.

So when I moved to a place that allowed me to own firearms, I decided to learn what it was all about. So I started reading, started to attend gun shows(where I purchased my first handgun) and then started going to the range, took classes to get my conceal carry permit and eventually took up competition shooting.

This is about the time I began really understanding that the issue at hand is not guns, but the people using the gun.

there is literally no difference between the gun i keep on my waist and the ones used in crimes. Want to know what the difference is? The difference that keeps my gun from harming people?

Me....Im the one who decides when and if to pull the trigger. Same as someone in a car, deciding not to drive through a parade...

Gun violence didn't start climbing until 2015, not 2004 when that law went away. Your can try and twist my words as you wish, much a child would do, so they can claim victory where there is none.

"It works elsewhere"
Are you talking about the bombings, bladed attacks or the chemical/acid attacks in Europe?

Based on the rest of your emotional, childish rant, you dont like to consider the whole reality of something.

Isnt that why you think taking guns away is the only solution? Got news for ya though, ever heard of a machinist? Unless you plan on killing all of us and shutting down machine shops, as well as banning cnc machines, files, saws and anything else that can cut metal, youll NEVER make guns go away.

Thats what I mean by the Pandoras box thing, you cant stop it. If you ban guns, youll only make it into a thriving black market.

Why are we all fighting to keep Roe vs Wade? Because it wont make abortions stop, itll just force abortions into unregulated and dangerous black markets. Putting women in very dangerous situations.

I see how emotional you are about this, but you need to seriously step back for a second and think long and hard about WHY people are shooting up schools.

If these shooters didnt have access to a firearm, what do you think would happen? Theyd just change their whole perspective? "Oh, I cant get a gun, Im just going to stop hating black people" Ya, thats not what would have happened with that racist little coward in Buffalo. He may have gone on to use far far worse things. It takes all of 5min to figure out how to make a bomb at home. He could have easily rented a uhaul truck and just ran through a crowd with it. These are all pretty easy things to do and have a hell of a lot worse outcome.

Do you rememebr the OKC bombing? Or the Boston Marathon?

What about all the suicide bombings in the middle east? Guess they just need strong bomb control, right? Those suicide bombings have NOTHING to do with the culture or mental state of those involved, right?

So short sighted, so blind to the realites of this world. Just slam the ban hammer until you get that warm tingle telling you that you "did something"

Pathetic. Honestly and truly pathetic....

"It works elsewhere"

The funniest thing about this is that we probably agree on almost every other social and political issue. The difference being that I actually respect the right to pursue life, liberty and happiness.

The world owes you nothing. Its time to grow up and face that. Not hide in the shadows of ineffective laws while thinking youre helping.

License gun owners.
Make em take a class to master the concept of the responsibility that comes with having a gun. Do an in-depth background check. Get references. Fingerprint them. Take their picture.

Then I don't give a shit what their gun looks like or how many bullets it holds, how much noise it makes (actually, the quieter the better) or how fast it'll shoot em. Come to think of it, might be nice if a license were necessary to buy bullets or anything else gun related too.

I only care that the hands that hold it are responsible and not connected to a complete mental fuck up bent on destroying whomever made him or her feel bad, or some dumbshit proud boy hillbilly who thinks thinking is too hard.

And for what it's worth, the criteria up above, except the stuff about needing a license to buy shit? It works. That's what is required for a license to carry a concealed handgun in Oregon. And surprisingly, those who have such a license here are the absolute least likely to be involved in stupid shit, gun related or otherwise, compared to any other group of adults. The idea of needing a license to buy bullets comes from Europe, but whathefuck, seems to work well for them.

9

Why argue. there is nothing anyone can do. The gun humpers love to argue cause its a tease. America, guns, dead kids. Live your life. You get shot, you get shot. Price of freedom.

10

r, just r,

Youre not familiar with what a national gun registry is, are you? Thats a violation of the constitution.

The private party without a background check, is a sketchy thing to do as a seller. The transfer through an FFL shows a chain of accountability. It shows I no longer own it and who i gave it to. Theres already lots of laws about straw purchases.

I just want to get this straight, you want to completely hand over your ability to protect yourself to the gov? The same gov that just dropped the ball on the buffalo and uvalde shooters? The same police that everyone wants to defund? Why are you so ready and willing to hand over the only real protection we have from becoming a country like china or russia? All the dictator nations have strict gun bans. Thats literally why we have the 2nd amendment. Also, you really think every crazy right extremist will hand all their guns in? That we couldn't have another Jan 6th attempt? Why disarm ourselves when there are other options?

Weve been doing it your way and we are having mass shootings daily.

PSmith55,

So get a gun, go train and find out what this is actually about. Stop sitting on one side of the damn fence. Find out first hand what gun ownership is actually about, instead of just popping off and saying nothing.
