Portland is being raped by its ruling class - the Portland Business ALLIANCE, Portland Prosper (prosperity for the already prosperous Development Commission) and regional Chambers of Commerce. Naomi Klein would call what's happening to Portland "disaster capitalism" - a means by which filthy rich absentee landlords may exploit escapees from Seattle and the San Francisco Bay area and other cities whose cost of living are exorbitant and whose standards of living are worse than Portland, a relatively small city that built its famed "livability" before it became popular and marketable to idiotic motorists.
