It's not that some people "lie" as much as tell half-truths to mislead others to believe lies without technically lying. All politicians practice such deceit and some blatantly lie. Ted Wheeler LIED when he said the Marquam Bridge (slated to be replaced) could relocate I-5 in a tunnel under the Willamette River. He knows this is NOT possible NOR advisable if it were. Its accident rate is off the charts. Wheeler entices developer speculators to buy into waterfront property without a replacement bridge (the ONLY replacement option) to limit profit potential.

Dead head Ted and other agency leaders (ODOT, Metro) are LYING about widening I-5 through the Rose Quarter, specifically claiming it won't worsen traffic hazards, accident rate and 'severity' (more multi-car pileups, more passenger & pedestrian fatalities). They're also lying about the Columbia River I-5 Bridge replacement project. And they LIED about the SW Corridor MAX extension on Hwy 99W (ODOT domain) as a sensible investment in public transit there. That project too was entirely a land-grab for development speculators.

Except on the left, people on the left are never dishonest in anyway shape or form, especially the far-left they don’t even know how to be deceptive, especially ones that profit off their role in politics, especially ones that have leadership in different organizations that are obvious conflicts of interest, especially ones that have excused or condone violence while claiming to be political professionals, especially ones who claim to have friends in Russia they speak in code with, nope only the people we disagree with for shallow reasons lie, everyone else in politics tells the truth all the time. We should never question left wing radicals or ask them to support their statements with meaningful evidence or reasoning.
