GPS has literally ruined our ability to navigate. It's changed our brains. I, too, long for the days of simply having an exit number, a street address, and a few landmarks and being able to find where I was going without a problem. I feel your pain, but as I have learned (the hard way), screaming into the void doesn't change what's happened. Unless there is an actual apocalypse and we are forced to live without power and technology, we will never go back to how it was.
