Interesting that Vancouver beat Portland to the punch on this: I Do For Us Too is a wedding event—filled with the usual host of wedding professionals (50 of 'em)—aimed specifically at committed and engaged LGBTQ couples. "An inherent problem for many same sex couples is that when planning their wedding or commitment celebration, they are met with discrimination or services are not available to them because of their lifestyle," reads the press release. While one would love to see them be able to simply enjoy their light hors d'oeuvres and fashion show, Equality SW Washington will also be on hand with info about Washington's Referendum 74, the passage of which will legalize same sex marriage there, and which Obama officially endorsed this week. It's coming up on Nov 4 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, and supporters are encouraged to attend. You can find ticketing info here.
