Here's a question: What's cooler than being cool? I SAID, "What's cooler than being cool?" ICE COLD, that's right. And there is certainly nothing "colder" than a rap star turned actor--especially if you've already got the word "Ice" in your name!
- ICE CUBE--The "Laurence Olivier of Rap," Monsieur Cube outguns his icy competition on resume alone. Comedies such as Barbershop (2002) and Friday (1995), and horror flicks like Ghosts of Mars (2001) and the squirmingly delightful Anaconda (1997) are almost enough to make you forget the god-awful Torque (2004) and I Got the Hook Up (1998). But Cube's greatest moment outside NWA still lies in his layered performance in Three Kings (1999). Regardless of what it says on the Goodyear blimp, Ice Cube's still the pimp. ¥ ICE-T--This current star of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit also has an amazingly long list of credits that include Johnny Mnemonic (1995), 3000 Miles to Graceland (2001), and Tank Girl (1995). Unfortunately the rest of this lengthy rundown includes many straight-to-video losers including Air Rage (2001), Out Kold (2001), and Frankenpenis (1996) with John Wayne Bobbitt. However! Do not miss the crown prince of hilarious horror sequels in which Ice-T also takes a supporting role, the infamous Leprechaun 5: Leprechaun in the Hood (2000). It's a killer leprechaun! WHO RAPS!!!
- VANILLA ICE--If you enjoyed Vanilla (or as he mystifyingly prefers, Robert Van Winkle) in TV's The Surreal Life or Celebrity Boxing, you may LOVE him in the straight-to-video Matrix parody, The HelixÉ Loaded (2004), or as "Music Store Employee #2" in the 2002 release, The New Guy (which also weirdly featured Zooey Deschanel, Lyle Lovett, and Gene Simmons). But screw all that! I would retire a happy man if I had starred in the unforgettable 1991 classic Cool as Ice, which boasts the most quotable movie line ever: "Lose that zero, and get with the hero."
