I've been a closet Motorhead fan for since before many Merc readers were born. While I generally think his post-peak stuff is pretty uninteresting (the classic line-up did it for me), I do find Lemmy a fascinating character - and a refreshingly unpretentious one at that - a rarity in rock n' roll.
The biggest revelation for me is what a geek Lemmy is. Despite bedding more women than all of us put together, there's footage of Lemmy backstage, chilling while reading a Frank Miller comic. He's got tons of toys and action figures and he plays video games.
Lemmy's a perpetual fifteen year old!
And that, my friends, is what rock n' roll is all about.
