Well, I can't let your underwhelmedness pass without comment. I was thoroughly whelmed. Best movie I saw in 2011, for sure.

The comparison might not mean anything to anyone but me, but I had the same response to Dragon Tattoo that I did to Saving Private Ryan. It was fascinating to watch, parts of it were shocking, and I spent a lot of time thinking about it afterward.

THAT CREDIT SEQUENCE MAKES ME WANT TO GO WATCH OLD CHRIS CUNNINGHAM VIDEOS.

@REYMONT: HAD YOU SCENE THE SWEDISH VERSION OR READ THE BOOKS BEFORE YOU SAW THIS VERSION?

Worst part of the movie for me? The opening credit sequence. If you don't like story & acting, but you do love cool graphics- stick to movies with robots.

That credit sequence threw me for a loop. I was really excited to see a very different kind of Hollywood remake-more punk, more artistic. 10 minutes in I gave up hope and knew it was pretty much shot-for-shot of the Swedish original. I liked both versions but was sad that Fincher didn't bring more edgy flavor like the credits.

The opening sequence seemed out of place with the movie and better stands on it's own as a killer music video. Possibly, there should be more showings of music videos on big screens. Bands are making great videos that will never be seen.

@Graham - Nope, and still haven't. Went in with pure ignorance.

Please wait...
