Hot on the heels of The Song Remains the Same and Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park comes, unbelievably, another rock 'n' roll movie. This one? It's about Bill Callahan, a man whose electric presence is bound to singe cinema screens across the country.

In all seriousness, Callahan, while a generally low key performer, is also a gripping and mesmerizing one, and Apocalypse: A Bill Callahan Tour Film is meant to mirror the interior whispers of his songs via an "impressionistic collection of live performances." It screens at the Hollywood Theatre on Saturday, September 22, and director Hanly Banks will be available for a Q&A. Watch the trailer above, which reveals almost nothing.

But! It gets even more exciting: In what is surely a direct and confrontational retort to his filmed persona, Callahan himself will perform after the movie! Expect a battle to the death between actual-Callahan and movie-Callahan. It's bound to get ugly.
