A few other little bits: "The Image," a chilling short experimental horror film from 1969. He shared screen time with Marlene Dietrich in David Hemming's otherwise misguided "Just a Gigolo"—but, hey, Bowie and Dietrich! He starred in Japanese New Wave legend Nagisa Oshima's superb war camp drama "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence." He played himself, memorably, as a bewildered, addled, scared senseless pop star in the BBC doc "Cracked Actor." Just a few things that came to mind... whenever he was on the screen, he always lit it up.
