Blackbird owner Pat Kenneally, who opened the popular Northeast club in 2001, has sold the venue to four employees. Bartenders Joe Kelly, Joe Haege, and Mike Heidges, along with booker Chantelle Hylton, will own the Blackbird effective May 1. "We're pretty much sacrificing the next three to ten years of our lives in the name of the rock," jokes Hylton.

Renovation plans are in the works. Booking will remain the same, though Hylton says it will be "more creative," with more event-type nights on the calendar.

This comes just after George Touhouliotis' announcement that he'd put his longtime club, the Satyricon, up for sale. JULIANNE SHEPHERD
