On Thursday, June 2, PBR and End Hits are teaming up to present a show like no other: '70s night at Mississippi Studios. In lieu of your typical '70s night of forced nostalgia and people awkwardly singing along to Gloria Gaynor hits, this is a special evening of skilled local musicians and special one-off bands, all covering the best of that decade three songs at a time. Each performer selects a year and a trio of songs from that rich period of music—which means you'll hear everything from Brian Eno to Hall and Oates, and from Nick Lowe to Alice Cooper.

You can't have a motto like "10 bands, 10 years, 30 songs, and One Million Moustaches!" unless you really mean it.

Here's the lineup and designated year :
1970: Jim Brunberg
1971: Chris Robley and the Fear of Heights
1972: Mike Koykendall
1973: Future Proof (featuring members of Swords Project and M Ward's band)
1974: The DRC 3
1975: Casey Neill and the Norway Rats
1976: And And And & Archers
1977: Petey J. Cool and the the the the Stutterers (ex-Pure Country Goldl)
1978: The My Oh My's
1979: Dave Depper and the Drop Bears

Best of all, this show is totally free. Previous PBR cover nights have reached capacity in no time, so get there early (doors are at 8:30), or else you will be left out in the cold.

End Hits: I sure hope someone covers Rupert Holmes.
