The Multnomah County Library just got 2020 off to an exciting start, having just launched their new FREE online music streaming service, the Library Music Project.

The Library Music Project boasts an almost overwhelming array of genre-spanning music from artists based in the Portland area: Myke Bogan, Korgy & Bass, ePP, Mat Randol, Cory Kendrix, Arietta "Mz. Etta" Ward, Donte Thomas, Kingsley, Eyelids, Blossom, and many, many more! Luckily the platform and site design is easy to navigate and can be filtered by year/genre/albums/artists/video/etc. [SIGH] Finally, a digital space where quality, vetted, Portland-made music can live and await our easeful discovery.

Full disclosure: I participated in the reviewing process for the Library Music Project pre-launch, and was delighted that it helped me discover some new-to-me local artists such as R&B musician Motaz. And indeed, on the platform's website it states its goal "to help new audiences discover the wealth of today’s local music and inspire the creativity of tomorrow."

If you're an artist wondering how to get your stuff on the Library Music Project, the open-source platform will welcome new submissions in the future. Head to librarymusicproject.com for more info.
