I caught The Replacements tour of Pleased To Meet Me in Frankfurt Germany, and the whole trip up and back on the train, etc, with my buddy Glenn, was quite the adventure.
As the Mats were the 'thinking mans drinking band', I had quite a bit of beer that night. I was 2 people back from Tommy Stinson, and Glenn kept passing beers up to me. I was toasting Tommy with them, of course, to be polite and all. Problem was, the girl in front of me didn't much care for the fact that with the swaying of the crowd (and being pretty lit) some beer invariably landed on her head.
What the hell. A Replacements show in Frankfurt. It happens!
But reading all this, I wish I was at the Portland show too.

Oh, I believe after the return trip via train to Wurzburg, we had some difficulty getting the car out of the parking garage and ended up throwing the barrier arm stop off its' mechanism on the ground and driving over it - hurriedly.

Seems like a fitting end to a night with The Replacements then.
