QUEER HORROR—The Hollywood's bimonthly Queer Horror series is a goddamn Portland treasure, featuring scary flicks with an LGBT bent. This week's offering: 1985's Fright Night in 35mm, which boasts an almost entirely queer supporting cast, and is hilarious to boot. Plus it'll be hosted by the fantabulous Carla Rossi, Portland's premier drag clown! Love it! WM. STEVEN HUMPHREY
Hollywood Theatre, 4122 NE Sandy, 9:30 pm, $8
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19

DANCE NIGHT—I actually hate that I'm writing this, but if you haven't danced your ass off at Killingsworth Dynasty yet, you're late to the party. The newish North Portland venue is one of the best boogie spots in the city, and it's steps from my door. So go once—maybe to tonight's set from DJ troupe Strange Babes—but don't tell anybody. DIRK VANDERHART

MUSIC—Cincinnati band Wussy are a pair of earmuffs for your soul—warm, fuzzy, and gloriously familiar. With vocals by Chuck Cleaver and Lisa Walker, their atmospheric tunes are driving, earnest, and heartfelt, like Tom Petty penned a love letter to his favorite shoegaze wuss-rock from the '90s. Pretty great, in other words. COURTNEY FERGUSON

Set in 1630, Eggers' tale finds a family settling in next to a very unsettling patch of New England forest... at which point everything goes to shit. Do your best to steel yourself beforehand, because The Witch isn't just great filmmaking—it's also scary as hell. ERIK HENRIKSEN

FILM—In the 1980 grindhouse flick Night of the Juggler, a very young James Brolin plays an ex-cop who's searching for his kidnapped daughter in a gritty New York City. It's a smorgasbord of car chases, knife fights, and prostitutes with some great footage of New York at its sleaziest in this 35mm screening. SHELBY R. KING
