I didn't oppose your idea because you suggested it. I opposed (and continue to oppose) it because it puts the PPB in a position of determining when to invoke the law and determine whether a protest is going to be violent.
After chief Outlaw's comments about her delight in "kicking ass" of the counter protesters, I no longer trust the PPB at all. The fewer decisions allowed and the less discretion given to PPB, the better as far as I'm concerned. When the police openly state that they've taken sides, you really shouldn't expect anyone to trust that they'll do neutral policing.
