Cop Accused of Lying in Court to Cover Mistakes

Don't know about the article, but the drawing is quite humourous.

Yes, although it does make me dizzy.

I can not believe that a police officer can blatantly lie and get away with it so easily. It is always the circumstances surrounding an incident like the teaser of a young man by a police officer, that gets a little hazy-- because of all the excitement (seemingly caused by the police officer), but the facts stand out for themselves. It seems to me that when all is said and done, it was still proved by more than one witness that the officer in question did teaser the man and then lies about it on the stand. Even the officer’s superior seems to have suggested that she cover-up her misuse of a teaser and her unprofessional behavior. If it was an ordinary citizen they would be faced with perjury without the benefit of a statement contradicting the officer’s guilt by the presiding judge. Any one committing perjury is making a mockery of our criminal system and especially when it is a police officer. When a person commits the offence of perjury, they should have their guilt left-up to a jury or a presiding judge in court especially if the accused is a police officer. Their case should not be decided ahead of time by the statement of a judge in a newspaper article. When will the citizens of Portland see equal justice for all?

To be honest, didn't even bother reading the article. Just wish people would stop bitching about the local cops. Let them do their damned jobs and shut up. If a cop asks you a question, or for your id, or to leave, or whatever.... just listen to them. If you got zapped, shot,or beat down, most likely you did something to deserve it, most likely 99% no cop wants a suspension, lawsuit, or to lose their job over getting off on doing something illegal, again 99% of the time. Our police system is way to weak on criminals, they know how to work the system more than your average law biding citizen. If the cops could beat, taser, shoot whenever they saw fit, I can guarantee that would-be criminals would think twice before breaking into your house, car, or mugging you. Support our local police and make their job a little bit easier. Thank you. P.S. not a cop.

No police officer, or judge or politician or parent or monarch ever deserves to have their misbehavior questioned. Those people who riled up the colonies to split from England were obviously criminals who would have deserved tasers if they would have been available at the time. Rights to privacy, to go about one's business in peace and not have to show papers like you're trying to travel across Nazi Germany are asking way too much of the people we used to call Peace Officers.

Happy dump, you're not a cop, just ignorant.

I am commenting on this story to see what happens.

Using "Nazi Germany" as a comparison proves my point of view. If that is what you think our countries law enforcers are comparable to... I say, you are the ignorant and clearly take your rights for granted. It's people with this mind set that hold violent protests, key large suvs, and show no respect for our hard working police. But heaven forbid, you get mugged, assaulted, or are slammed by a hit and run driver, please feel free to not bother our hard working police since they are all straight out of "Nazi Germany"

And you know us ignorant people, we just cling to our religion and personal firearms... =)

IT IS A GREAT PICTURE!

Ahh, the Portland Police, business as usual.

Why do they have to keep injuring people?

Can't they just enjoy all the other perks, like parking where they want, huge retirement benefits, disability payments that surpass all the rest of the population?

NO, THEY HAVE TO GO AROUND HURTING PEOPLE TO BOOT!

Most cops are good, but boy, talk about a thin blue line!

As long as bad cops are just allowed to "do their job" of abusing their position everyone looses. Good cops should be especially pissed off. They risk their safety while the public's confidence in the PPB is shattered.

Happydump, you are the reason this country has been easily taken over by madmen.

Trish, you are the reason we will WIN the REVOLUTION!!!
~"it is OUR DUTY, OUR RIGHT to alter or ABOLISH our government to secure our SAFETY and HAPPINESS."

SAFETY AND HAPPINESS.

DUTY AND RIGHT.

THe REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN.

Some of you should probably READ the article, instead of just looking at pictures.

Actually, perjury is a crime that's almost NEVER punished. Especially when it's cops. I was going through trial last year with 11 wittnesses on the prosecutions' side - ALL of them cops. ALL of them told massive, naked, bold-faced lies. I whispered in my lawyers' ear everytime i heard a lie, & i pointed these lies out when i sat in the wittness stand myself. Nothing happened to them.

Look dude; you go to a bar, get intoxicated (because, isn't that why people go to bars), you're picking fights and pushing cops, and you got tasered. What's your beef? You push me and you'll be swallowing teeth. Listen to cops, I guarantee their job is harder than yours because they're dealing with drunk idiots with authority figure issues like you. I'm a biker and I LOOK like a biker and have never had a problem with cops when I've treated them with the profesional courtesy that all working people deserve. You got off easy, move on.

Please wait...
