Being a cop is a shitty job. Nobody commenting here is willing to do it, is willing to spend their working lives dealing with that kind of shit, but they still expect those who will do it to all be exemplary citizens, cowboys in white hats. Well, murder is murder under the law. Unfortunately, there seems to be an unwritten exception for police officers. There is no way around the legal analysis in this case: force applied caused death; police had no justification or excuse for use of force:: hence homicide.

#1 You don't really know if anyone commenting here is willing to do the job or has applied or is currently doing the job.
#2 I don't think cops need to be perfect but I do think that if there is a flaw in the system it should be corrected. They followed procedure and someone died. He didn't need to die.

#4 oh yeah. So the only people who can criticize are people who have actually done the job. Are you aware that most Americans have not been: Doctors, politicians, lawyers, programmers or a number of other things. These people DO need feedback from people who do not do they're job. They need the perspective of the people they SERVE to better their service.

It might be Lt. Mark Kruger, named Portland's Worst Cop in a Mercury poll, who has repeated instances of violence against women during protests, and who has been linked to neo-Nazis.
