Why in the world wouldn't these kids have reported their version, pressed charges when the police arrived? What reason could they possibly have for mistrusting police? Isn't it perfectly obvious that the police place a premium on their rights as citizens? Don't they realize that the only "special interest" that concerns the police is the public interest they "protect" and "serve?" Don't these kids understand that the police work for them, and that they can't be swayed by money and power because everyone is equal under the law? What can we do to help people realize that police work for the protection of us all and can be trusted to do so fairly?

So, why is a clearly violent asshole still allowed to work as a security gaurd, when he [legally] has no business being one to begin with?! Why was this asshole never fired? Isn't assualting someone a felony? I can see one of the tacky meat-market night clubs dt hiring thugs to run their security, but Pioneer Square?!

Nice story Stefan.
being as PPB is willing to work with local organizations to keep them out of police reports and the public record, the next time I am in danger of getting a ticket I can ask the PPB to do Soapbox a favor and keep our name out of the paper by not filing a report/ticket, etc.
Stefan, can you do us all a favor and ask PPB to clarify who has this privilege because we would not want to overstep our bounds. If it is something that for instance we have not been using as an organization, then maybe we need to re-access our strategy.
thanks
Patrick

This reminds me of my favorite 1997 t-shirt slogan; Skateboarding is Not a Crime

El Duce,
what we can learn from this, is that in 1997 Skateboarding was not a crime... in 2010 biffing someone in the face with a skateboard is not a crime as long as you can explain to the PPB that it is not good for your company if your name gets in the paper...
thanks
Patrick

Pacific Patrol Services, AKA rent-a-cop, is stack full of assholes. A few weeks ago I was pulling out of PSU on my bike to head down 5th Ave, when a rent-a-cop on a bike started giving chase because I blew a red light. I kicked my bike up to higher gear and the fat POS couldn't keep up --- dusted him somewhere around the Square - his own home base! I hate these idiots. They think they can stop me? One of the fastest cyclists in this town? HA! I hope PPS reads this and eats my shit.

Skate boarding is a crime when the skateboard becomes a weapon instead of a street riding vehicle.Payback coming?
