...to point fingers, play the victim, and rewrite history, as Steve mentioned in GMN. Journalists and pundits have "manufactured a blood libel" against her, says Palin, elevating her imaginary victimhood to staggering new heights. Among Palin's howlers is this:

"It is in the hour when our values are challenged that we must remain resolved to protect those values. Recall how the events of 9-11 challenged our values and we had to fight the tendency to trade our freedoms for perceived security. And so it is today."

So, hey, if we don't keep ratcheting up the violent rhetoric and cranking up the crazies—if we don't keep putting crosshairs over the congressional districts of our opponents and ordering our worshipers to "RELOAD!"—then the terrorists win! And dontcha remember how after 9/11 some people wanted to authorize illegal searches, suspend habeas corpus, conduct warrantless wiretaps, toss people into secret prisons, stage illegal kidnappings, and torture prisoners (including US citizens)? Good thing we didn't listen to those people and trade our freedoms for a little "perceived security." That was a close call, you betcha!

Palin's video—via TPM—is here. I can't bear to watch the whole thing. Have at it, Blogtownies.
