Hey, guys, if you were worried that the tax day Oregon Tea Party rally in Pioneer Square this afternoon was planning to lash out at the "union supporters" who will surely show up to disrupt their sign-waving and Rand-reading, DON'T WORRY, the Teabaggers have taken Martin Luther King Jr.'s Pledge of Nonviolence.

From a byline-less press release article in the Portland Tribune:

“In light of the recent violence experienced by Tea Partiers at events across the nation carried out by union supporters, we’re asking all Oregon Tea Partiers to take Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 Pledge of Nonviolence,” said Jeff Reynolds, Multnomah County Republican Party chairman. “Any anti-Tea Party violence will be met by an even keel of truth and justice.”

You hear that, violence-crazed unions? An even keel of truth and justice! The same even keel of truth and justice they always embody.

Just FYI, the rally is from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. It will also feature "local Patriotic group, We the Band."
