The restriction on booze is hardly the reason for the demonstrations. The PM is a straight up fascist, the police response has been actually horrifying. Using the booze thing as a lede sort of reduces the story to a "MEANWHILE, HERE'S A WACKY THING IN FARAWAYASTAN".
