I'm sure there will be appeals by the bitter and the brainwashed, but this was the right decision and sooner or later every state will allow same-sex marriage. Thank you, Judge McShane, for reaffirming that everyone should be equal under the law.

A great day for Oregon. Congrats to everyone getting married today, gay or straight!

Yay, Lake! Thank you!

Marriage licenses issued by the State are what's un-Constitutional, in the first place. The Affordable Health Care Act, already stipulates equal privilege for all, anyway, doesn't it?

Usually I have something snide and sarcastic to say, but in this case I really mean it.

Yay!

Was with you on this all along. Great job, Lake!

Actually.. @ ^^ jnat.. there may not be an appeal because neither the gov nor the AG are defending the case and the Supreme Court (in the Prop 8 case) set the precedent that self-appointed religious groups have no standing in federal court if not appointed by the state or people.

@mtngoatz That would be great!

Yay! Congratulations and happy wedding day, to all who've been waiting for it!

Interesting to see the Portland Mercury "Ballyhoo" the tolerance exhibited by the courts. The only thing I've ever seen Denis Theriault and his sleazy editor Wm. Steven Humphrey be tolerant of is racism, homophobia and anti-Americanism when it's exhibited by his comrades on the Left. Nice job living up to your reputation as bird cage liner.

Perriguey worked on this alone for months while the supposed gay rights leaders at BRO tried to make him stop because they were just sure it was the wrong strategy. BRO will surely admit now they were wrong and apologi-- oh wait, it appears BRO is now trying to take credit for this victory. Alrighty then.

My family has been paying the "gay tax" for years, and we've watched helplessly as donor money was frittered away on causes that have nothing to do with gay rights, on lobbyists who don't do anything and, unbelievably, on a campaign to convince supporters NOT to ask voters for marriage equality in 2012. Perhaps now that marriage equality has been achieved in Oregon, the gay money gravy train that has kept the current batch of boneheaded "leaders" fat and happy will hopefully come to an end.

Please wait...
