I used to feel bad for taxi drivers losing business, until those screens were installed on the back of the passenger seat.

Now it's Uber forever, as far as I'm concerned.

Consumers are choosing a superior product over an antiquated, protectionist monopoly model??? who'da thunk it?

I have found that taxi wait times have come down greatly during "peak hours", and the revamped Curb app is pretty handy if you want to go the smart phone route. I was and still am all for Uber (yes, it would be nice if they weren't run by douches) and Lyft not being shut out, but I still use local cabs now that they are much more user friendly and reliable than they were before. I think there are probably a lot of people who feel the same.

"Consumers are choosing a superior product"

Tell that to the wheelchair users.

Oh right fuck them, being disabled is their problem.

Curb is bullshit. The last time I ordered a ride with Curb the driver never showed up, yet I was still charged for the ride. I called up the cab company and was told that someone probably took my cab and left me with the bill. Now here's the kicker: the cab company can't do anything about it because they don't deal with Curb directly.

Please wait...
