As a spectator, I wasn't privy to the inside baseball over police union concessions like removing their grievances and accepting the Discipline Guide. I only knew that we had to approve a contract with raises because Portland is shedding police and don't have recruits to replace them.
Let's not forget the core issue here: police body cams would be under the sole discretion of the individual officers, nullifying accountability for rogue cops who kill at will. The result?
