Mr. Humphrey, you just don't get it. You think the major issues across America have to do with insulting women or saying nice or nasty things about minorities?

Remember "It's the economy, stupid"? After the 2008 recession, Obama put all his efforts into helping Wall Street and the one percenters, the real estate, financial and techy industries recover, which they did. However, he did NOTHING for Main Street. The middle class is getting smaller and smaller and nothing has gone right for working class people. These people had two choices: If they chose Hillary, it was obvious nothing was going to change, and their salaries would continue to be insufficient or nonexistent, while their rents go up. But, if they voted for Trump it's possible something would change for these voters. Whatever you say about Trump (and I probably would agree with you), he is ultimately an unknown quantity. We really don't know what he's going to do. That's why people voted for him.

How’s your staff, Mr. Humphrey? Particularly the person who Tweeted this revealing, but absurd, comment just before the election: “Sick of this election, praying to Beyoncé that the president we welcome tomorrow is a pantsuit-clad overlady not Jabba the Hutt? Us too!”

Praying to Beyoncé? How appropriate that in our celebrity-driven culture, where folks invoke someone like Beyoncé, we should end up electing a president who belongs to the Celebrity Party.

What’s next? Has Beyoncé formed an exploratory committee for president in 2020?

No. But Kanye has.

Please wait...
