I am in favor of soda taxes, energy drink taxes, bottled tea and bottled water taxes, espresso drink taxes. Nobody needs to drink these -- and they'll find a way to pay for these regardless of taxation. I am also in favor of a tax for telecommunications providers -- looking at YOU, Comcast -- because they have no competition, have been handed PDX to use and abuse, and can kick in several million dollars for our homeless problem. Let's also examine a political campaign surcharge -- contributions greater than $250 should be taxed for homeless relief. That's probably not legal. What about a home sale tax on every home sale? What about a real estate developer's tax? New car tax?
